New innovation for the treatment of hypertrophic scar
Hypertrophic scarring (HS) is a common complication following burns, surgery and trauma. It does not only affect the appearance of scar tissue, but can also causes serious deformities and disabilities.
The "Smart Scar Care Product" (SSCP) range is a newly invented silicone padding material. This material allows for the better control of hypertrophic scarring and Keloid scarring.
SSCP was invented by Professor Cecilia Li from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It consists of a layer of specially designed silicone rubber and a layer of specially formulated medical grade silicone gel.
When used in conjunction with pressure therapy and silicone therapy. "Smart Scar Care Pad" can evenly distribute pressure while reducing scar tension and prevent water loss. This greatly improves the apperance and thickness of scar tissue.
SSCP is conformable, durable and comfortable to wear and suitable for use under pressure garments or other elastic bandages.

Smart Scar Care Pad Sheeting
This sheeting is divided into two layers: the first is a soft medical-grade silicone gel sheet that is in direct contact with the scar; the second is comprised of multiple rubber cylindrical studs that increase the conformity of the gel layer, and can be customised to provide effective and uniform pressure.
The sheeting is available in A6 - A4 sized sheets and with the studs ranging in height at 3mm, 6mm and 9mm.

Smart Scar Care Sheeting (Light)
The Light Smart Scar Care sheeting is similarly constructed with the layer of silicone and rubber studs, but the studs are both narrower and shorter, making this the best choice for smaller bodies, areas of greater movement and when less targeted pressure is required.
