Contraindications and Precautions

Under duty of care, a newly measured custom-made garment should always be fitted by the prescribing clinician (or their delegate). This ensures patient safety, and any required alterations will be covered under the first fit guarantee. 


  • Poor cardiac function or unstable cardiac conditions
  • Arterial insufficiency ABPI 0.5 – 0.8 (compression 15 – 20 mm Hg)
  • Renal insufficiency
  • Lymphorrhoea
  • Severe peripheral neuropathy
  • Pulmonary oedema


  • Congestive cardiac failure
  • Severe arterial insufficiency ABPI <0.5
  • Cutaneous infections
  • Dermatitis in acute exudative stages
  • Deep skin folds
